It is almost time to ride

The time has come to donate some time and fund raising efforts to the following charity: National MS Society / MS150 Bay to Bay

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease with no known cause or cure. It is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, resulting in paralysis or loss of vision. Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn’t.

Here is a link to view regarding MS: This is why we ride, a Tricia Chandler story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy004eeHTLw

The National MS Society hosts an event called the MS150 where riders will be riding 150 miles in 2 days for the MS Society on October 13th and 14th:

100 miles the first day

50 miles the second day

If you know anyone who would like to ride, let us know and they can join the team. We are still accepting donations for this ride. Please forward them to our office made payable to National MS Society.

Thank you to everyone for your participation and assistance.

CYCLING RESOURCES
The MS Bike Tour prides itself on providing a wide range of cycling resources to its participants, from beginners to advanced riders.  We offer resources such as the eClub, an online rider community where cyclists can post questions to help prepare for the MS Bike Tour, and partnerships with local bike shops where registered riders can receive free safety inspections and discounts. Safety and training resources are also provided to ensure a quality bicycling experience!  The safety and training section of our website include tips on group riding, bike maintenance and much more.  Remember that the MS Bike Tour is a TOUR and not a race!  Riders must follow the rules of the road and training is strongly suggested for the safety of all participants.

We are currently offering scholarship opportunities for MS Bike Tour participants to complete the League of American Bicyclists League Certified Instructor Program.  In addition we are recruiting Safety Clinic Instructors and Training Ride Leaders for our 2007 Training Season. If you are interested in any of these programs please email nancy.palo@mspacific.org or call 760.448.8420.

Recruit your friends and family  for the three-day, 50-mile Sprint MS Challenge Walk, a
fully-supported event
along the beautiful coastline from Carlsbad to downtown San Diego.
